Physical Development

Involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food.

We have access to a wonderful play area in our orchard, where children can experiment using large and small equipment. There is lots of space to run and play freely and make plenty of noise. We play music outside and children sing and dance and enjoy being active. Children are supported to stay safe and manage their own risk by negotiating space and using equipment safely. They learn to handle equipment and tools effectively, indoor and out, as we have an open door policy for transition from indoor to outdoor however the children choose.
