After having 2 boys, I had always planned to return to work, however both boys were diagnosed with autism between ages 2-3, a new world for us and one we knew nothing about. This channelled my interest into researching and learning as much as possible, primarily to help support the development and understanding of my own children, but to enable me to go on to help others.

When both boys started school, I studied my Level 2 working at Kingsley Neighbourhood Nursery, which in turn led to my interest in childhood development and in particular supporting parents.

I am passionate about sharing our personal journey as a family and have presented several times to parents and professionals. I have delivered a Sensory Workshop in school settings and Visual Structure and Strategies Presentations at the ACE Parent Support Groups at Red Kites and Kingsley Academy Schools. This has opened up opportunities for me to talk with and support parents.

I have worked in Foundation and SEN- KS1, 2, 3, 4 and Post 16 and have enjoyed every minute of it! The most amazing thing for me has been to witness first hand, the progress of individual students from Foundation all the way through to leaving at age 18. It has been so rewarding to see their personal journey and how they have developed into the amazing young people they have become.

I am very excited to be joining Chirpy Chicks and having the opportunity to work towards my Level 3 working alongside a fantastic team of staff and seeing all your amazing children learning, developing and having lots of fun!

In my spare time I enjoy dog walks, sewing, gardening, meeting up with friends and finding the odd bargain at a car boot sale!
